Practical Information

Date: 27th of July to 3rd of August 2019 + possible 3 extra days up to the 6th of August

L'Agape officially ends on Saturday, the 3rd of August. But this year, we are offering all participants the opportunity to stay up to three days longer, until Tuesday, the 6th of August. During the extra days, time will be free for discussions, walks, creative activities, debates and anything else you wish to do. You can leave at any time between the 3rd and 6th of August. However, be aware that the fees only cover the expenses until the 3rd. An additionnal (modest) contribution will be necessary in case you decide to stay longer.

Schedule: See here

Location: Mézeyrac (France)

Mézeyrac is a tiny, cute village in the middle of the (exctinct) volcanoes of the Auvergne (France). Nearby towns are Présailles and Le Puy-en-Velay. The conference will take place in a country house which was once part (or, more precisely, the stables) of the estate belonging to the local duke.

Travel information:

The best thing is to first come to Lyon (by plane or by train).
Then travel to Le Puy-en-Velay by train. There is a direct local train (TER) from the station Lyon Part-Dieu to Le Puy-en-Velay which takes a bit more than 2h.
From Le Puy-en-Velay, we will organize a minibus to the country house!

Meals:

We will hoard enough food for a one-week siege. It will be mainly vegetarian. All the pleasant chores of cooking and washing-up will be nicely shared in an anarchistic self-governing way.

Fees: € 150 (to be paid in advance)

We are receiving support from the family which lends us the house for free. The price has therefore been set at 150 € which will include food and minibus transport from Le Puy-en-Velay to Mézeyrac. Funding is available for the conference fee and for travel expenses.

What is an "agape"?

It's a fellowship meal, banquet or gathering of persons to promote good feeling, restore friendly relations, honour a special guest, etc...
